A Columbus woman is back in custody at the Ross County Jail after authorities executed a bench warrant in a felony conveyance case that has been pending since late 2025.
According to Ross County Common Pleas Court records, Victoria A. Garner, 36, of Columbus, was indicted on a third-degree felony charge of illegal conveyance of prohibited items into a detention facility. Court documents indicate the case originated from charges filed in Chillicothe Municipal Court in November 2025 before being presented to a grand jury.
Garner was arraigned in December 2025 and released on a $15,000 recognizance bond. Court records show she later requested court-appointed counsel and entered a plea of guilty on April 22, 2026.
Prior to the plea, the case experienced a significant setback when Garner failed to appear for a scheduled hearing on February 27, 2026. As a result, Judge Michael M. Ater revoked her bond and issued a bench warrant for her arrest.
The warrant remained active until Garner was taken into custody by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office on June 8, 2026. Jail records show she was booked into the Ross County Jail shortly after noon Monday.
At the time of her booking, jail records also listed an additional charge of illegal conveyance of weapons.
Court records indicate a disposition hearing was held on June 8, 2026, following Garner’s return to custody. The case is now listed as closed in Ross County Common Pleas Court.
Garner remains housed at the Ross County Jail pending any remaining court orders related to the case. As with all criminal proceedings, the filing of charges and court records are allegations and proceedings of the court, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
