The Adena Youth Warriors are Super Bowl champions.
The third and fourth grade Warriors beat Jackson Red 19-13 on Saturday at Gardner Park Stadium in Washington Court House to win the Little Ohio Heritage Conference Junior Varsity Super Bowl.
It was the rematch Adena wanted. Jackson Red was the only team to beat the Warriors all season, and Jackson came into Saturday undefeated. Adena finishes the year 8-1, with a championship trophy.
The trip itself was already a milestone. This was the program’s first JV Super Bowl appearance in more than five years, and head coach Dakota Speakman’s team made it count, holding on for the six-point win.
Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on a championship season.
A big thank you to Kaylee Speakman, who passed along the final score and these photos/video, just like she passed along the news when this team reached the Super Bowl. We appreciate you keeping us posted all season. Photos courtesy of Kaylee Speakman.
