Chillicothe Man Finds a Gun Safe on His Property, and It Is Not His

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio: A man on State Route 180 had an unusual find on his property Saturday: a gun safe that did not belong to him.

A Ross County deputy was dispatched to the property late Saturday morning, October 17, after the caller reported finding the safe. A report was written and an investigation was started, according to the sheriff’s office daily log.

The log does not say whether the safe was open, what was in it, or how it may have gotten there. A safe is not the kind of thing that walks off on its own, and an unclaimed one usually means somebody else is missing it.

Anyone who is missing a gun safe, or who knows where this one came from, can reach the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. We will update this story if the sheriff’s office releases more.
