ROSS COUNTY: Ross County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible swatting incident after a threat involving a property on Crouse Chapel Road in Chillicothe.
According to the sheriff’s office activity log for Oct. 13, deputies went to the property to check on it after the threat was reported and opened an investigation into possible swatting.
Swatting is when someone makes a false report of a serious emergency to send police to a person’s home. It is a crime in Ohio.
