CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — If your Pumpkin Show routine starts with a stop at the Pickaway County Welcome Center, change the routine. The center will be closed during Pumpkin Show week, October 21 to 24, with the visitors bureau team working remotely while the show takes over downtown.
The help did not go away, it moved. The bureau’s visitor resources live at pickaway.com and in the Discover Pickaway app, and the bureau has built a Pumpkin Show Companion page listing the other events, live music, and activities happening around the county during show week, for visitors who want to see what else is going on while they are in town.
Downtown, the Ohio Travel Pavilion will be set up during the show as an in-person resource.
The bureau has also spent this year helping lead Pickaway County’s America 250 planning, and visitors will see that celebration woven into the show, starting with Tuesday’s opening ceremony and special parade and continuing in patriotic themes across several of the traditional contests and displays.
For first-time visitors, the bureau’s advice is to check the official schedule at pumpkinshow.com before heading downtown and to have a plan, because parades, entertainment, contests, and activities run all week. Allow extra time for parking and walking. The bureau’s website and app can also point you to places to stay, eat, and shop.
And the bureau’s bigger hope is that a show visit turns into a return trip. Pickaway County’s year-round stops include Wittich’s Candy Shop, the nation’s oldest family-owned confectionery, plus locally owned boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops, and the county’s parks, historic attractions, and countryside are at their best this time of year. The bureau’s 2026-2027 Visitor Guide is linked from its website for anyone planning a longer stay.
