PORTSMOUTH — Nearly four years after Chad Sissel was found dead in an alley behind 1225 Linden Ave., a Scioto County grand jury has indicted a Georgia man in the killing.

Favio LJ Campa was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence in the Oct. 29, 2022 homicide, the Scioto Valley Guardian reported Oct. 6.

Campa was arrested in Georgia and is awaiting arraignment in Scioto County Common Pleas Court, according to the report. No court date for the arraignment had been set as of this week.

The indictment marks the first major break in a case that has been unsolved since Sissel’s body was found in the Linden Avenue alley in late October 2022.

Campa is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. This story will be updated as the case moves through the court system.
