CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An accidental 911 call resulted in the arrest of a Chillicothe woman after police discovered she had an active warrant, according to a Chillicothe Police Department report.
On August 8, Chillicothe Police Officer Joseph Gay responded to a residence on North Watt Street for a reported 911 hang-up. Police said 30-year-old Michaela Elaine Dennis told the officer she had accidentally called 911.
According to the report, Dennis provided her Social Security number, which was checked through dispatch. Police were then advised that Dennis had an active warrant through the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was confirmed, and Dennis was taken into custody.
The report states Dennis was transported to the Ross County Jail, where she was turned over to jail staff.
Police also reported serving Dennis with a copy of the warrant, described in the report as a secret indictment for drug possession, case #26SI000201, as well as a weapons-under-disability form. Dennis was advised of an August 10 court date.
The drug allegation remains pending, and Dennis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court
