Christopher Davis has been taken back into custody weeks after his prison release
A Chillicothe man who appears to have been released from prison roughly a month ago is already back in custody, according to jail records.
Christopher Lafayette Davis, 47, was booked into the Ross County Jail on May 20, 2026, at approximately 4:22 p.m. Records list the arresting agency as the Adult Parole Authority.
Jail records show Davis is currently being held on a parole holder with no additional criminal charges listed at the time of booking. Officer Jason Young was listed in the arrest information section of the booking report.
Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction records indicate Davis had recently been placed on APA supervision through the Chillicothe office following a prison sentence for felonious assault in Ross County. Those records show his supervision began on April 15, 2026 — just over a month before he was returned to custody.
Court records show Davis previously pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of felonious assault, a second-degree felony under Ohio Revised Code 2903.11, and was sentenced in 2024 to a minimum prison term of two years and a maximum of three years.
Davis remains listed as in custody at the Ross County Jail.
As with all cases, any alleged violations or pending matters remain subject to the judicial and administrative process.
