A Florida man is listed on the Ross County Sheriff’s Office sex offender registry following a Florida conviction involving a disabled adult.
According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office offender registry, 40-year-old Marcus Deangelo Alphonso Slaughter is currently registered as a Tier I sex offender with an address listed on East 4th Street in Chillicothe.
Florida court records show Slaughter was convicted in Bay County, Florida, of a lewd or lascivious offense committed upon an elderly or disabled person. Court records indicate a Bay County jury found Slaughter guilty on July 24, 2019.
A press release issued by the Office of the State Attorney in Florida stated the incident occurred on April 11, 2018, at a gym locker room in Panama City. Prosecutors alleged the victim was a disabled adult male.
According to the release, evidence presented during trial showed Slaughter was allegedly alone with the victim at the time of the incident, and witnesses identified him as the only individual alone with the victim in the locker room.
Court records show Slaughter was adjudicated guilty and later sentenced on September 13, 2019.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office registry lists Slaughter’s release date as July 19, 2024.
The case was investigated by the Panama City Police Department and prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney for Florida’s 14th Judicial Circuit.
