BAINBRIDGE MAN HELD IN ROSS COUNTY JAIL ON WARRANT RELATED TO BAD CHECKS CASE

A Bainbridge man is currently being held in the Ross County Jail following the issuance of a warrant tied to a prior felony case.

According to records, Jeremy L. Smith is listed as in custody at the Ross County Jail as of April 17, 2026.

Smith was originally charged with Passing Bad Checks, a fifth-degree felony, in a case filed in January 2022. Court records indicate the case was closed, but subsequent filings show continued legal activity related to the case.

In May 2025, a judgment entry indicates Smith admitted to violating the terms of his community control. As a result, the court ordered his community control to be extended for an additional two years, bringing the total to five years.

Later entries dated November 10, 2025, show that a petition for capias was filed by the Ross County Probation Department. Court records further indicate that a capias warrant was issued for a community control violation.

Jail records confirm Smith is currently being held on a warrant charge, with no bond listed at the time of booking.

Smith is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
