CHILLICOTHE MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON ON DRUG CHARGE

A Chillicothe man has been sentenced to prison following a felony drug conviction in Ross County.

According to court records, Jacob T. Steele, of Skiver Road, was convicted on a charge of Possession of Drugs (Fifth-Degree Felony). The charge stems from an original allegation of aggravated possession of drugs, which was later reduced to possession.

Court documents show Steele entered a guilty plea on February 19, 2026. The case proceeded to sentencing on March 24, 2026.

On March 26, 2026, the court formally sentenced Steele to 7 months in prison. He was granted 1 day of jail-time credit, and his bond was released. Court costs were waived.

The case was heard in Ross County Common Pleas Court, with Judge Matthew S. Schmidt presiding.

As with all criminal cases, a conviction reflects the court’s ruling based on the evidence presented.
