Chillicothe Man Sentenced to Prison for Cocaine Trafficking

ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Chillicothe man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two felony drug trafficking charges in Ross County Common Pleas Court.

According to court records, Jermaine L. Brandon, of 611 East Main Street in Chillicothe, was indicted in May 2025 on two counts of trafficking in cocaine, both fifth-degree felonies under Ohio law.

The indictment was filed May 23, 2025, and Brandon was later served with a summons by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. He appeared for arraignment on June 9, 2025, where the case was scheduled for further proceedings.

Court filings show the case moved through multiple pre-trial hearings and scheduling conferences before eventually reaching a plea hearing in January 2026.

On January 21, 2026, Brandon entered a guilty plea to two counts of trafficking in cocaine.

The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation, and sentencing was later scheduled for March 9, 2026.

On March 10, 2026, Ross County Common Pleas Judge Matthew S. Schmidt sentenced Brandon to:

• 8 months in prison on each count

• The sentences will be served concurrently (at the same time)

Because the sentences run concurrently, Brandon will serve 8 months total in prison.

Court records state the defendant was ordered to report to the Ross County Jail on March 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. to begin serving the sentence.

The case was formally closed on March 11, 2026.
