SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities are searching for a Tennessee man wanted on attempted murder and felonious assault charges following a stabbing that left a man critically injured in Scioto County.
According to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, active arrest warrants have been issued for 22-year-old Rodney White Jr., whose last known address is in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
The investigation began on August 8, 2026, when the Scioto County 911 Communications Center received a call from Wheelersburg Urgent Care regarding a man who had been brought to the facility suffering from multiple stab wounds.
A responding Scioto County Sheriff’s deputy determined that the victim had reportedly been stabbed during an altercation. Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim was transported by medical helicopter to an out-of-town hospital, where the Sheriff’s Office said he remained in critical condition at the time of the release.
Detectives with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office responded as part of the investigation, processing evidence, reviewing security camera footage and interviewing multiple witnesses.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for White on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault.
Authorities describe White as approximately 6 feet tall with longer hair and glasses. The Sheriff’s Office warned that White should be considered armed and dangerous.
Sheriff Thoroughman said the case remains an active and ongoing investigation and indicated that additional charges are expected to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury at a later date.
Anyone with information regarding White’s whereabouts or information concerning the case is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jodi Conkel at (740) 351-1091.
The charges are allegations. White is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
