ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Chillicothe woman with a criminal court history spanning more than a decade was booked into the Ross County Jail on October 27, 2026, while facing a fourth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property.

Ashlee Brooke Lewis was booked in by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office on the felony charge, which stems from an indictment filed earlier this year.

According to Ross County Common Pleas Court records, Lewis was indicted on May 15, 2026, for receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony under Ohio Revised Code 2913.51.

Court documents reveal that authorities initially encountered difficulties locating Lewis following the indictment.

On May 21, 2026, a summons issued through the Ross County Sheriff’s Office was returned unserved. The docket specifically noted that Lewis had moved and was reportedly listed as a missing person out of Zanesville.

On June 2, 2026, the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office filed a request for the issuance of a warrant following the unsuccessful attempt to serve the indictment.

Court Records Reveal Multiple Previous Cases

A review of publicly available Ross County court records reveals that Lewis has been involved in several criminal proceedings dating back to at least 2015.

Those records include cases involving possession offenses, complicity, custody, and failure to appear.

Cases filed in 2015, 2016, 2021, and 2022 are currently listed as closed in the court’s online records. However, the available case summaries do not establish the final disposition of each individual charge.

Bond Modification Appears in Latest Court Proceedings

Court records also reveal a recent development in Lewis’s ongoing felony case.

A hearing originally scheduled for October 19, 2026, was continued until October 27 at 11:30 a.m.

According to the October 27 docket, a court proceeding involving a bond modification was recorded that day.

However, the publicly available docket notation does not explain the reason for the modification or indicate whether Lewis’s bond was increased, reduced, revoked, or otherwise changed.

Lewis was also booked into the Ross County Jail on October 27.

The case remains open, and court records indicate that a jury trial is scheduled for January 7, 2027, at 8:15 a.m.

Hopewell Heritage Headlines will continue monitoring the case as additional court records become available.

All criminal charges are allegations. Lewis is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
