Columbus Man, 20, Faces Robbery Case in Municipal Court and Aggravated Robbery Case in Common Pleas

A 20-year-old Columbus man arraigned Saturday in Franklin County Municipal Court is facing felony robbery cases in two courts at the same time.

De’Michael Berry is charged in municipal court case 2026 CR A 012705 with robbery, a first-degree felony, at the grade alleging a deadly weapon was on or about the suspect or under the suspect’s control, according to court records. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office records also list a second case against Berry in the Court of Common Pleas, case 26CR5550, charging aggravated robbery, with a court date of October 26, 2026.

Neither the arraignment sheet nor the booking record describes the incidents behind the charges, and no further facts were available Saturday. Sheriff’s records show Berry was arrested on October 23, 2026, and booked into the Franklin County Corrections Center at James A. Karnes (booking 20261023036). Bond had not been set in either case as of his arraignment in courtroom 4D.

Berry is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The municipal court case is typically presented to a Franklin County grand jury, which decides whether to issue an indictment and join it with the Common Pleas case.
