One Bid, $450,350: Ross County Opens Jail Security Upgrade Bid

Ross County

Ross County has its first number for a planned security upgrade at the county jail, and it comes from the only company that bid.

At their meeting on Tuesday, October 13, the Ross County Commissioners opened bids for the security upgrades project at the Ross County Jail, according to the meeting record.

Only one bid came in. IP Systems of Valley View bid $450,350 for the work.

No contract was awarded at the meeting.

The county security team will review the bid first and make a recommendation to the board. Commissioners are expected to act after that review is done.

That review is a normal step when a county gets a single bid. It lets the county check that the bid meets the project needs and that the price is in line before any taxpayer money is committed.

For now, the jail security project stays in the planning and review stage, with the $450,350 bid on the table and a decision still to come.
