The crash was reported at 3:29 a.m. on U.S. 23 near mile marker 14 in Chillicothe, according to the log. The log calls it a hit skip crash, meaning a driver left the scene, and says an investigation was started.

The log lists no injuries and gives no description of the vehicle or vehicles involved.

Overnight crashes on U.S. 23 can be hard for investigators when there are few other drivers on the road to see what happened. Anyone who saw the crash, or who saw a vehicle stopped or leaving the area around that time near mile marker 14, can contact the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies have not released any other information in the daily log, and the investigation was listed as just getting underway.
