Ross County

ROSS COUNTY: A Bainbridge resident has reported to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office that a construction contractor was paid but did not complete the work.

The report appears in the sheriff’s office activity log for Oct. 13. Deputies took the report.

No other details, including the contractor’s name or the amount paid, have been released at this time. We will update this story as more information becomes available.

Before hiring a contractor, a few steps can help protect you:

  • Get a written contract that spells out the work, the price, and the timeline.
  • Avoid paying the full amount up front. Pay in stages as work is finished.
  • Ask for references and check reviews.
  • Check complaints with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
