The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office has a public-safety message, and it comes with surveillance video. “If you’ve had a few too many margaritas with dinner, please don’t get behind the wheel, and definitely don’t do donuts on the courthouse lawn.”

That was the department’s Facebook post Tuesday, paired with footage of a silver sedan spinning across the grass outside the courthouse in Vernon. The clip, timestamped just before 5 p.m. Monday, shows the car circling in the dirt, close to a tree and raised concrete, kicking up a cloud over the lawn.

arrested Lorraine Phyllis Wilkerson, 67, of North Vernon, and booked her into the Jennings County jail the same day. The Madison Courier reported two Class C misdemeanor counts: operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of 0.08 or more, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A jail listing for booking 40-26-0378 shows bond of $905 on the alcohol-concentration count, Indiana Code 9-30-5-1(a).

The sheriff’s office told drivers who have been drinking to line up a ride home. Those counts are allegations. Wilkerson has not been convicted.
