CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe man was arrested Sunday night following a reported domestic dispute at an apartment on South Paint Street.
According to a Chillicothe Police Department report, officers were dispatched to 137 S. Paint Street on August 17 after receiving a report of an active domestic dispute.
Police said the alleged victim told officers that Robert Franklin Cash had assaulted her before leaving for a neighboring apartment. Officer Joseph Gay reported observing a red mark along the left side of the woman’s neck and another mark near her left shoulder blade.
According to the report, the woman told police that she and Cash had gotten into a verbal argument inside her apartment. She alleged Cash shoved her and later head-butted her in the nose. Officers reported observing what appeared to be a bloody nose.
The woman further told police that she and Cash have a child together and had been separated for approximately a year. She requested that charges be filed, according to the report.
Officers later located Cash walking westbound on West Fifth Street. Police said Cash denied putting his hands on the woman and claimed he had only pushed her out of the way while leaving the apartment.
Cash was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and transported to the Ross County Jail.
Jail records show Cash remained in custody as of August 18. The charge remains an allegation, and Cash is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
