ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County man has been booked into the Ross County Jail to serve a 30-day sentence following a third-offense OVI conviction, according to jail and Chillicothe Municipal Court records.
Stanley W. Mitchell was booked into the Ross County Jail at approximately 6:07 a.m. on August 10, 2026. The Miami Valley Jails system lists Mitchell as being held on an OVI offense with his status marked “sentenced.”
According to the court docket, Mitchell pleaded guilty and was found guilty on August 3. The sentencing entry orders 30 days in jail with none suspended and no jail-time credit listed.
The consequences extend well beyond the jail sentence.
Court records show Mitchell was assessed a $1,040 OVI fine, along with court costs and several additional fees. The court also imposed a driver’s license suspension and ordered restricted license plates and an ignition interlock device.
An ignition interlock generally requires a driver to provide a breath sample before an equipped vehicle can be started and may require additional samples while the vehicle is being operated.
The docket further lists several special conditions, including 20 hours of community service each month for the next two months, completion of substance-use disorder and recovery counseling, and an order prohibiting the use of drugs or alcohol. Mitchell is also listed as being subject to random testing and was ordered to be evaluated for alcohol and other drug services.
Court records filed August 6 show additional costs associated with the case, including a $50 probation fee, a $350 probation fund monthly reporting fee, a $15 restricted-license-plate fee, and a state ignition-interlock fee, among other court costs.
A community control sanctions filing was entered with the clerk’s office on August 10, the same day jail records show Mitchell was booked into the Ross County Jail.
Based on the records available, the August 10 booking appears connected to Mitchell beginning his previously imposed jail sentence rather than a new OVI arrest.
