The Chillicothe Police Department announced the promotion of Officer Christopher McGowan to the rank of sergeant on Thursday.
In a post on the department’s official account, CPD shared photos from the occasion and offered congratulations on the promotion.
McGowan began his law enforcement career as a deputy with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office from 2004 to 2007. He joined the Chillicothe Police Department in 2007 and has served as an active member of the department’s SWAT team since 2010.
The promotion recognizes his years of service with the department.
