Portsmouth Woman Arrested on Outstanding Failure-to-Appear Warrants

A Portsmouth woman was taken into custody Wednesday after authorities served outstanding warrants related to two separate felony cases in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.

According to booking records from the Scioto County Jail, Alexis Luana Loop, of Portsmouth, was booked into the jail on July 1, 2026. Jail records show she was being held on two counts of Failure to Appear; Issuance of Warrant.

Court records indicate one of the warrants stemmed from a felony case alleging Failure to Appear as Required by Recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. The indictment was filed in September 2025, and a warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.

A second Scioto County Common Pleas Court case filed in March 2025 charged Loop with two counts of Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, both fourth-degree felonies, and Theft from a Person in a Protected Class, a fifth-degree felony. Court records show Loop appeared for arraignment in July 2025 and was released on a $5,000 recognizance bond after entering a plea of not guilty.

However, docket entries show a bench warrant was issued on Aug. 1, 2025, after Loop allegedly failed to appear for a scheduled hearing in that case.

Following her latest arrest, court records show Loop is scheduled to appear before the Scioto County Common Pleas Court on July 8, 2026, in connection with the failure-to-appear case.

As with all criminal cases, the charges against Loop are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
