Farewell, Magic Mountain East: Columbus’s Beloved Family Entertainment Center Closes Permanently on July 5, 2026

Magic Mountain Fun Center East, a longtime staple of family entertainment on Columbus’s east side, will permanently close its doors after its final day of operation on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

The announcement, shared June 29, 2026, on the venue’s official Facebook page, ends decades of operation at the site located at 5890 Scarborough Blvd. in Columbus. The business has served generations of Central Ohio families with attractions including miniature golf, go-kart racing, arcade games, bumper cars, batting cages, and a kids’ gym, along with hosting birthday parties, school and church events, group outings, and annual community traditions such as Easter egg hunts.

Owner Hank Woodburn issued a statement expressing appreciation for the community’s support:

“It has truly been a privilege to bring fun, laughter, and lifelong memories to so many families throughout the years. We are incredibly grateful to the guests, employees, schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations that have supported us over the years. From birthday parties and family outings to our annual Easter Egg Hunts on the mini golf course and countless community events, we’ve cherished every opportunity to give back and be part of so many special moments. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we will always be thankful for the memories we’ve created together.”

The announcement did not specify a reason for the closure. Guests are encouraged to visit the park before July 5 to enjoy the attractions one final time and to redeem any remaining arcade tokens, prize tickets, Groupons, gift certificates, promotional certificates, or other unused offers.

This marks the end of Magic Mountain Fun Center East operations in Columbus. The closure follows the 2021 shutdown of the chain’s former Polaris location, which had operated as another Central Ohio site.

The business extended its thanks to the Columbus community for years of loyalty and patronage.

For the most current details, visitors can check the park’s Facebook page or contact the venue directly ahead of the final day.
