Chillicothe Woman Accused of Shoplifting, Obstructing at Walmart

A Chillicothe woman is facing charges after an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart on River Trace Lane, according to the Chillicothe Police Department.

Police say 36-year-old Breanna Rose Haller was charged with theft/shoplifting and obstructing official business following the May 14 incident.

According to the report, officers were dispatched to Walmart after loss prevention employees allegedly observed Haller placing arts and crafts supplies into a backpack before attempting to leave the store without paying. The reported merchandise included pens, journals, and gel pens.

Loss prevention employees reportedly detained Haller and contacted police. Officers stated the total value of the recovered merchandise was approximately $168.08.

Police allege Haller repeatedly refused to provide identifying information when asked for her name and social security number. According to the report, she allegedly responded by saying, “that’s a good question” when officers attempted to identify her.

Haller was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Ross County Jail.

The report also states Haller was formally notified she is barred from Walmart, Sam’s Club, Murphy gas stations, and related properties. Officers advised that returning to those properties could result in criminal trespass charges.

Officer Shelby Lott authored the initial narrative, while Officer Katrina Hallam also assisted on scene.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
