CHILLICOTHE MAN SENTENCED IN OVI CASE, WARRANT ISSUED AFTER VIOLATION

Chillicothe, Ohio — A local man is facing additional legal trouble after being sentenced in an OVI case and later having a warrant issued following an alleged violation of court orders.

According to records from Chillicothe Municipal Court, Raeshan Ishmeal Lynch, 29, of 161 Rosewood Court, was charged by the Ohio State Highway Patrol with Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI) stemming from a December 16, 2025 incident.

Court records show the charge, filed on December 17, 2025, was classified as a first-degree misdemeanor. Lynch initially entered a not guilty plea and was released on his own recognizance.

During the course of the case, Lynch filed multiple motions, including requests for discovery, a jury demand, and a motion to preserve evidence. A public defender was appointed to represent him.

However, records indicate Lynch failed to appear for a scheduled court date, leading to a warrant being issued in early January 2026 with a bond set at $2,000.

The warrant was later served on January 10, 2026.

On February 5, 2026, Lynch entered a guilty plea to the OVI charge. The court imposed a $565 fine, along with additional court costs and fees. He was also sentenced to three days in jail, with credit for time served.

As part of his sentence, Lynch’s driver’s license was suspended, and he was ordered to:

Complete a driver intervention program by May 31, 2026 Perform 20 hours of community service per month for two months Abstain from drugs and alcohol and submit to random testing Undergo evaluation for alcohol and drug services

Despite the sentencing, court records show that on February 19, 2026, a capias warrant was issued for Lynch for violating conditions of the case, with bond set at $5,000.

A subsequent entry indicates the warrant was served on March 23, 2026.

The case remains active within Chillicothe Municipal Court.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
