Chillicothe Man Ordered to Serve 141 Days for Failure to Comply

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe man has been ordered to serve 141 days in jail following a probation violation tied to a prior failure to comply case.

According to records from the Chillicothe Municipal Court, Gary J. Helton, 28, was originally charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a first-degree misdemeanor stemming from a 2024 incident.

Court records indicate that Helton was later found in violation of the terms of his community control sanctions. As a result, the court imposed a 141-day jail sentence, which was noted as not bondable.

A warrant was issued in connection to the violation, and documentation shows the warrant was served on March 18, 2026.

The case originated from an incident investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Helton remains subject to court-ordered sanctions and financial obligations related to the case.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
