A Ross County man was arrested following an assault investigation on Bronx Corners Road in the Ray area over the weekend.
According to a report from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 4:16 p.m. on March 14, 2026, to a residence on Bronx Corners Road in reference to an assault complaint.
Deputy Brayden Woodbridge responded to the scene and began an investigation after making contact with individuals at the residence.
During the investigation, a witness told deputies that Raymond Humble, who lives in the other half of the trailer, returned home from the store and became upset when he was unable to open his door because it was locked. According to the report, Humble then entered the shared kitchen area and struck another man in the chest with a gallon jug.
Witnesses reported that the victim had been sitting in a chair in the kitchen when Humble allegedly swung the jug in a backhand motion, striking him in the chest. After the incident, the victim reportedly had difficulty breathing and began vomiting.
According to the report, the victim advised deputies that he did want charges filed in connection with the incident.
Deputies later made contact with Humble, who reportedly stated he was angry after returning home and discovering his door was locked. Humble told deputies he did not hit the victim with the jug, claiming he only shoved it into the kitchen and it accidentally struck the victim.
After speaking with Humble, deputies advised him he was being placed under arrest. Humble was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ross County Jail.
Humble is being charged with assault under Ohio Revised Code 2903.13 in connection with the incident.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
