Tragic End to a Missing Persons Case in Ohio

A two-week search for a missing man in Waverly, Ohio, has ended in heartbreak after his body was discovered.

What Happened on Saturday

On February 28, police officers went to 404 7th Street after getting a call about a body found behind the house, down an embankment. When they arrived, they confirmed the man was dead.

Who Was the Man?

Authorities identified him as Ryan Wrutzel. The Pike County Coroner came to the scene, and his body was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy was performed on March 1, but the cause and manner of death are still unknown.

The Earlier Search Effort

Two weeks before this discovery, Ryan’s family contacted the Guardian for help finding him. This led to a missing persons alert being issued, with hopes of bringing him home safely. Instead, the case has ended in tragedy.

What’s Happening Now?

The police investigation is still active. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances around Ryan’s death, and more details may be released later.
