Allen’s Pharmacy in Chillicothe, Ohio, has launched a fun community contest to name its newest team member: a prescription-dispensing robot that’s been helping out for a few weeks.
The independent, family-owned pharmacy, a local staple since 1941, shared the call for name ideas on social media. Staff describe the robot as a hardworking “metal marvel,” “capsule-slinging sidekick,” and “prescription-processing powerhouse” that fills prescriptions efficiently.
They noted that calling it simply “The Robot” feels rude and bad for morale, so they’re inviting the public to suggest names. Ideas can be funny, pharmacy-themed puns, dramatic superhero-style, or wildly creative.
Submissions are welcome in comments on their posts or via a suggestion box at the pharmacy for those without social media. The winner gets eternal bragging rights, “Robot Naming Committee” status, and possibly a small surprise from the team.
The winning name will be announced on March 4.
This lighthearted contest highlights how the pharmacy blends modern automation with its nostalgic, community-focused vibe, including a full-service soda fountain. Residents in south central Ohio are encouraged to join in and help give the robot a proper, morale-boosting identity.
