In south central Ohio, the Vinton County Vikings have represented Pike County’s neighbor well in the Tri-Valley Conference (TVC-Ohio division) during the 2025-26 boys basketball season. As of March 4, 2026, with the regular season complete, Vinton County finished 7-15 overall and 6-6 in conference play (tied for 4th in their TVC group per MaxPreps standings, behind leaders like Meigs and Wellston). The Vikings showed competitiveness in league action, posting key wins against familiar foes and entering the postseason with a focus on defense and hustle.
The OHSAA district tournaments are underway in the Southeast District (March 2-7), where Vinton County competed in Division IV. Their playoff run ended in the sectional/quarterfinal stage with a 46-39 loss to Gallia Academy on February 23. With sectionals wrapped and districts ongoing, attention now turns to advancing teams from the region, though Vinton County’s season highlights local pride amid tougher competition. Conference marks emphasize league rivalries, while overall records reflect full-season battles.
