A Portsmouth woman has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in Scioto County Common Pleas Court to an amended felony drug charge tied to fentanyl trafficking.
According to court records, Dasia Kennedy, 30, of Portsmouth, was found guilty on March 9, 2026, of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound with a forfeiture specification, a first-degree felony, as amended.
The court sentenced Kennedy to 4 years and 6 months in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, with 5 days of jail-time credit.
Court records indicate the conviction stemmed from an indictment filed on February 7, 2025. The case later involved multiple hearings, pretrial proceedings, and litigation over suppression of evidence before reaching resolution earlier this month.
As part of the final judgment entry, the court noted that all other counts were dismissed. Those counts included:
Possession of a fentanyl-related compound Trafficking in cocaine Possession of cocaine Improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle
A docket entry filed March 10 shows a warrant was issued to convey Kennedy to the Scioto County Sheriff for transport, and certified copies of the sentencing entry were also sent to the Bureau of Sentence Computation.
