Frankfort Man Pleads Guilty in Ross County Strangulation Case

ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Frankfort man has entered a guilty plea in Ross County Common Pleas Court in connection to a domestic violence case involving strangulation.

Court records show Chase Lee Daugherty, of Frankfort, was charged with Strangulation (a fourth-degree felony) and Domestic Violence (a first-degree misdemeanor).

According to court filings, the case was formally indicted on October 17, 2025, after the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office requested issuance of a summons following the indictment. The charges were served by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.

Bond in the case was initially set at $15,000 (10%) before the matter proceeded through the court process.

During proceedings earlier this year, the court issued several orders related to bond and pretrial supervision. Records indicate the defendant was later held without bond pending further order of the court, with subsequent bond conditions later set at $100,000.

On February 13, 2026, court records show Daugherty entered a plea of guilty, and a Judgment Entry of Guilty was filed in Ross County Common Pleas Court.

The case remains listed as undisposed in the court record, indicating final sentencing or disposition has not yet been entered.

As with all criminal matters, court proceedings and sentencing are determined by the court following the plea.
