CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Law enforcement in the Chillicothe area took counterfeit money complaints on two straight days this week.
On Thursday, October 22, at 5:31 p.m., a Ross County deputy took a counterfeiting complaint on Eastern Avenue, and an investigation was opened, according to the sheriff’s office call log. The day before, on Wednesday, October 21, Chillicothe police took a report of fake currency on Western Avenue.
Neither log entry lists an arrest, and the two agencies have not said whether the reports are connected or what denominations were involved. Both investigations remain open.
Businesses that handle cash may want to give bills a second look this weekend and contact law enforcement if one looks wrong.
