Two people were arrested early Tuesday morning after Chillicothe Police responded to a report of a possible burglary at a South Watt Street business.
According to police records, officers were dispatched to a barber shop in the 30 block of South Watt Street shortly after 5:20 a.m. on July 14 after a neighbor reported seeing two individuals enter the closed business through a side door and remain inside.
When officers arrived, they observed individuals inside the building and attempted to make contact. Police eventually entered the business and located a man and woman inside.
The woman was identified as Audrey Anna Marie Manson, 23, who police determined had an active warrant out of Indiana. Officers reported that Manson initially refused to provide identifying information and was arrested on charges of Obstructing Official Business in addition to being held on the out-of-state warrant.
The man was identified as Wesley Cameron Vaughn-Luke, 29. Police said Vaughn-Luke repeatedly refused to provide his name or identifying information while officers investigated the possible burglary. According to the report, he was advised that refusing to identify himself during the criminal investigation could result in arrest. Officers ultimately detained him and charged him with Obstructing Official Business. After being taken into custody, police discovered Vaughn-Luke also had an active warrant from Indiana, however this warrant for found to be out of pick up radius.
Investigators noted there were no obvious signs of forced entry and that the owner of the business had previously allowed the individuals to sleep at the location. A key to the business was reportedly found on Vaughn-Luke during a search.
Both individuals were transported to the Ross County Jail. Court records show Manson was booked on charges of Obstructing Official Business and Fugitive from Justice, while Vaughn-Luke was booked on a charge of Obstructing Official Business.
The original burglary complaint remains listed as an investigation, and no burglary charges had been filed as of Wednesday.
