A man was recently booked into jail on a felony kidnapping charge following a domestic-related incident that was initially reported to law enforcement in June.
According to an incident report, deputies were dispatched shortly after 1:15 a.m. on June 20, 2026, to investigate an assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint. The incident reportedly began in the parking lot of Boland’s Mini Mart in West Portsmouth and was connected to a dispute involving a woman and her boyfriend.
The report indicates deputies learned the complaint was related to an earlier assault investigation and involved allegations concerning the unauthorized use of a vehicle. Deputies later made contact with the reporting party at a residence on Stoney Run Road as part of the investigation.
Jail records show that William Lacy was booked into jail on July 2, 2026, on a charge of Kidnapping (Ohio Revised Code 2905.01).
Additional details regarding the allegations and the circumstances leading to the charge were not immediately available from the records reviewed.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
