Portsmouth Man Booked Into Scioto County Jail on Sexual Imposition Charge Linked to 2020 Case

A Portsmouth man was booked into the Scioto County Jail shortly after midnight on July 4, 2026, on a charge of sexual imposition.

According to jail records, Matthew M. Ison, 5-foot-6 with gray hair and green eyes, was booked into the facility at approximately 12:26 a.m. on a charge of Sexual Imposition (ORC 2907.06).

Court records from Portsmouth Municipal Court show the case was originally filed on August 25, 2020. The charge is listed as Sexual Imposition, a third-degree misdemeanor, stemming from an alleged incident dated August 22, 2020.

Recent docket entries indicate a warrant was served on July 6, 2026, followed by an arraignment hearing. Court records further show that Ison signed a recognizance and a pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 23, 2026.
