Chillicothe police arrested a 27-year-old local man on July 1, 2026, after he damaged property to force re-entry into a residence during a domestic dispute, according to Chillicothe Police Department reports.
The incident took place at a single-family home on South Sugar Street in Chillicothe, Ross County, in southern Ohio. Officers responded to the domestic dispute call shortly after midnight.
According to the police narrative, officers found Tyler Severance standing outside the home without clothing from the waist down. The woman at the residence told officers she had just returned from work and found him lying naked and extremely intoxicated on the couch. She asked him to leave, locked the door, and he then broke a side window and damaged the door frame to get back inside.
The report states that Severance and the woman had lived together at the address for approximately one month and have children in common. She indicated that no physical or threatening events had occurred between them and that she simply wanted him removed from the house because of his intoxicated state.
When officers spoke with Severance, he said he had been going through some things and that he “fucked up and wanted to go home.” Officers noted clear indicators of intoxication, including slurred speech, glassy bloodshot eyes, and difficulty speaking coherently. He asked if he could get a ride or if someone could take responsibility for him but was unable to find anyone.
Severance was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Ross County Jail without incident. Severance was charged with disorderly conduct under Ohio Revised Code 2917.11 and was issued a summons.
