PPG Industries to Create 100 Jobs with $280 Million Expansion in Delaware County, Ohio

Delaware, Ohio – PPG Industries Ohio, Inc. plans a major expansion at its longtime paint manufacturing facility in the city of Delaware, bringing 100 new full-time jobs and more than $280 million in investment to Delaware County.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the project on March 2, 2026, as part of eight statewide developments expected to create more than 1,320 jobs and generate over $853 million in total investment across Ohio.

The company, which already employs about 450 people at its Delaware site, will use the funds to expand operations in a state-of-the-art paint manufacturing facility. The project focuses on delivering the next generation of high-quality, sustainably advantaged coating technologies. PPG produces paints, coatings, specialty materials and fiberglass.

The expansion is projected to generate almost $8 million in new annual payroll. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.483 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit to support the effort.

Construction is expected to begin later in 2026, with new operations projected to start in 2028. Alisha Bellezza, PPG senior vice president, said in a statement that the expansion will help the company deliver advanced coating technologies.

PPG has operated in Delaware since the mid-1960s and remains a key employer in the region. The project marks a significant boost for south central Ohio, adding high-quality manufacturing jobs and reinforcing the area’s industrial base near Columbus.

Local leaders and economic development officials view the investment as a strong signal for continued growth in Delaware County. The news comes at a time when central Ohio continues to attract major manufacturing expansions.

This development aligns with PPG’s focus on innovation in coatings while creating local opportunities in Delaware County. Residents and job seekers in south central Ohio can watch for updates on construction timelines and hiring as the project moves forward.
